Course Overview:
As we strive towards realizing organizational and institutional goals and objectives, good procurement processes and practices play a critical role in realization of the overall company objectives. With proper frameworks policies and legal guidelines, procurement processes should be seamless and result oriented.
Transport and logistics on the other hand are critical components of any business that involves the movement of goods, material or people. Effective management of transport and logistics can lead to cost savings, increased efficiency and improved customer satisfaction.

Course Objectives:
Main objectives of this course include; to enable participants:
• Develop a deeper understanding of the fundamental concepts, principles, terminologies and best practices that relate to procurement, transport and logistics management
• Develop ability to formulate effective procurement strategies, optimize supply chain operations and design efficient logistic processes
• Coordinate activities across the supply chain to achieve seamless operations from sourcing to distribution
• Understand techniques for managing inventory levels, reducing excess stock and ensuring products are available when needed
• Have greater insights into the principles of warehouse and distribution management including warehouse layout optimization, order picking and storage, and efficient distribution strategies
• Have up to speed knowledge of modern technologies that enhance supply chain visibility, data analysis and decision making.
• Understand the role of freight forwarding agents, customs clearance and international trade regulations
• Learn how to optimize transportation routes, considering factors distance, time and cost

• Gain an understanding of the use of technology and innovation in transport and logistics including the use of GPS, RFID, IoT and other tracking technologies
